John Biggs, Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Councillor Rachel Blake, join in the fun at our Roman Around the Christmas Tree event.

On Saturday 11th December, Roman Road Trust joined with Tower Hamlets Council and local schools to help decorate our community Christmas Tree, located on Gladstone Place, just off Roman Road Market.

The event, named Roman Around the Christmas Tree, was a huge success, with many local children and their families joining us to create and hang their decorations onto the tree.

We were delighted to be joined on the day by the Mayor of Tower Hamlets, John Biggs, alongside councillors Rachel Blake and Val Whitehead.

A huge thank you to staff and students from Globe Primary, Morpeth School, Olga Primary, Chisenhale Primary, Old Ford Primary Academy and Mulberry UTC for providing beautiful decorations to hang on the tree.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped out at the event, it was wonderful to see our community spirit in action.

The Rediscover Roman Road project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Welcome Back Fund from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
