The Common Room: Developing the Programme

We are delighted to announce that Roman Road Trust has been awarded a grant from the Connecting People & Places fund delivered by Foundation for FutureLondon to help develop the first wave of programming for the Common Room.

Roman Road Trust has recently raised over £80,000 through Crowdfund London to transform the deteriorating Common Room into a fully functional learning facility. The funds raised from the crowdfund campaign will go directly towards the materials and construction of the Common Room.

The funds from the Connecting People & Places grant will allow us to run listening sessions, market stalls, and taster workshops whilst the space is being built. This will help to ensure the programmes offered in Common Room will be suited to the needs of our vibrant community.

The first of these sessions took place in September 2020 where Roman Road Trust met virtually with local community stakeholders.

Further listening sessions, market stalls, and workshops are scheduled to take place regularly until August 2021 (Covid-19 permitting.) Keep an eye on your inbox and across social media for upcoming sessions. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Roman Road Trust is looking for volunteers to help out during listening sessions and market stalls. If you are interested in volunteering, please email: hello@romanroadtrust.co.uk

Could the new venue hold mindfulness group sessions, a community film club, a place where the monthly group for autistic adults can meet run by the ELFTHC Trust? When circumstances allow.
