Roman Road Yard Market – a new food destination for the East End [PRESS RELEASE]

Described by a visitor as ‘Brick Lane without the tourists’ the new Roman Road Yard Market is becoming the East End’s new food mecca.

With The Cheesetruck (from Hackney Wick) and Burgers and Beyond (from Star of Bethnal Green) as regular street food trucks as well as a rota of up-and-coming food traders including Hui’s Kitchen, Nordish and High Steaks, it’s the new place for brunch and lunch in the East End.

Roman Road Yard Market enjoys a leafy and self-contained spot under the trees of the car park on Roman Road, and opposite the entrance to the main Roman Road Market. It offers a busker’s corner, regular creative workshops and an area dedicated to hot food with seating. The market alternates between designer-maker Saturdays and Vintage & Art Saturdays.

“Hackney and the westerns reaches of Tower Hamlets are well served with food markets but there’s nothing for the growing population further east” says a representative of the Roman Road Trust. “We’re here to serve the hungry folk of Mile End, Fish Island, Hackney Wick, Vicky Park Village and anyone else who is looking for a new food experience. We’ve got some very exciting hot food traders lined up for later in the summer too.”
