Planning & development

Roman Road Trust campaigns on behalf of our local members on local planning and developing issues that impact our high street. The Trust is also facilitating the development of a Neighbourhood Plan for the community with particular focus on Roman Road.

Challenges include developers converting employment space into residential; heavy vehicular traffic being filtered down Roman Road to the A12; loss of community spaces; poorly designed public realm; poor pedestrian flow between Bow East and Bow West; high shop vacancy rate; lack of evening or leisure economies, and dilapidated shop fronts.
