Roman Road Trust is pleased to announce that the next stage of the Globe Town Common Vision project has been confirmed. Roman Road Trust will be working in partnership with the local authority to support high street improvement initiatives and the development of a community-led Globe Town Common Vision for the area until December 2018.

For the past eight months Roman Road Trust has engaged with local businesses, residents, and community groups to begin building a common vision for the high street and its community in the Globe Town area.

The first stage of the Globe Town Common Vision project included monthly place making workshops (Identity & Heritage, Food & Markets, Public Realm, Art & Culture); Christmas events on the market square; the launch of the Roman Road E2 Hampers; promotion of the East End Garlands shop front art project, and the Globe Town Knees Up celebration event to mark the end of the first stage.

The next phase will continue to support the is to develop a steering committee. This will be a strong group of local residents, business owners, and community group representatives who are passionate about making projects a reality in Globe Town. The steering committee will meet regularly and take projects forward collaboratively.

Roman Road Trust will help develop the steering committee into an effective group with the ability to lead its own projects and work in partnership with the Council about plans for the area.

We look forward to continuing our work with those we already know as well as meeting many new faces.
