Meet and join your Globe Town Steering Committee

Do you live, shop or work in Globe Town and want to help make it a better place?

Meet the newly formed Globe Town Steering Committee who will be introducing themselves to local people on Globe Town Market Square on Saturday 30th June. There will also be an opportunity to mark the boundary of Globe Town. Where do you think it is?

Globe Town Steering Committee needs voices to contribute to the community-led vision so please come to share your views about living and working in the local area.

If you want to get even more involved, there are also opportunities to join the steering committee.

Over the last year Roman Road Trust has been working in Globe Town to develop a community-led Common Vision for this often overlooked western stretch of Roman Road. The initial phase of the project involved a series of monthly workshops that discussed different aspects of Globe Town from arts and heritage, to green spaces and the plans for redeveloping the market square.

From these workshops, Roman Road Trust helped to bring together a group of local people who now meet regularly to develop the Common Vision and create a united voice for the local community. This group is called the Globe Town Steering Committee. It is made up of local businesses, residents and community groups.

Roman Road Trust is working closely with the emerging steering committee to help them become a constituted group with the skills and ability to lead projects and work in partnership with Tower Hamlets Council and other local stakeholders about plans for the area.

Date: Saturday 30th June
